Great workshop yesterday with Susan Kilinski-Wirgler on connection with your horse! Started off with lunging horses together in the arena, what a fantastic way to start, my girl did such a good job running around with a herd of 3. She and I did so well together and I took away some really practical tips and exercises. I did my homework with her again today and then felt brave enough and went out on the trail with her paddock gal pal neighbor Meredith and Sharon for the first time! It was amazing! I felt so connected to her and I could feel how happy and relaxed she and I were on the trail. Now just have to get her boots so we can go out in more fun areas where her feet are protected. Oh, and check my new rig! We are mobile now!…..

It was such a pleasure for me to observe your clinic that morning Linda! Although I was not a participant, I too took away some really practical tips that I’m excited to practice during my next lesson. Congratulations on your trail ride…that was a big step for the two of you and your confidence will continue to grow with every step you take. I hope our paths cross again! Jana S
The Workshop was amazing. Very informative and Susan breaks things down in steps. So what you do on the ground then transfers to the saddle. She’s a great teacher and funny to boot 😊
Thank you Susan Kilinski-Wirgler, it was such a great learning experience. You broke everything down perfectly. Look forward to more clinics with you. I actually felt so confident that I trailered out and we did a solo ride at Olmstead and she was fabulous.. really would like to attend you ranch cow clinic. Thank you for all your support and individual attention..

|Thanks Susan for all that you have given me, the courage to start riding again, the knowledge to ride effectively and the ability to trust and love the horses that I have. You are truly a gift to all of us. Thanks for being there. Have a restful and loving day.|
I really enjoyed the clinic today. I took away alot of new things to work on. Beautiful day for if and wonderful ladies to share it with. Thank you Susan again. Looking forward to me riding lessons too.
K….I might actually have my Rango back already!!! Had to use the whip to keep him moving on the ground wrk, plus urge him on to speed up in the arena. He was pacing, but who cares….I wasn’t pullin and he was swinging his little head back and forth all happy. I used my seat…legs…good stops. I luv my Rango..so I guess ur helping me over the phone was the ultimate house call. Lol

This goes out to my friend/ horse trainer/ vacation salvager….Susan Wirgler!!!
Here’s the short story…hubby and I now live in Western Montana and don’t get to see Susan anymore, but we keep in touch.
So Lionel and I planned for 6 months a horse camping trip to Bumble Bee, AZ…which I highly recommend. Took 3 days to get here..a day to organize..Then start riding….Both of our horses are excellent, calm, solid, rides…never any worries. Poor Lionel got bucked off and hurt on his first ride….my guy, Rango was definitely different than the last time I rode him in Dec. Next day I did a little ground work and went for a ride with some people that are also camping here. Well….I swear…I was riding Rango’s evil twin brother!!! I even got off and walked him….he was just the opposite of my laid back , sweet, go what ever speed I ask you, guy. I was freaking out….so I called Susan and she was able to talk me through it and tell me how to fix it, because she has known me and my horse for about 5 years. I followed her advice on doubling down on the ground work in order to “drain their tank”. And within a couple of rides he was back to his little Rangonator self. I can’t thank Susan enough. My confidence level is boosted cause I was able accept and meet the challenge. Next, I’ll start working on Lionel’s horse and apply the same technique. It’s like magic.
It’s so beautiful here and warm and sunny. I’m gonna get to see some really cool scenery here. And play with some old friends and meet new peeps. Lionel can’t ride for 2 months, but then he’ll be back on those Montana trails.
Thanks again SUSAN!!

|Enjoyed meeting you at the retreat and loved your horsemanship clinics! The round pen demonstration was totally awesome! I’ve never seen anything like it. 🙂 Hope you are there next year too.|
